If you’re in the city this holiday season, you might be thinking, “What do I do?” Luckily, New York City has some of the coolest activities and events that are guaranteed to make your time here memorable. No matter what kind of holiday spirit you’re in or where your family is from, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Here are some ideas for things to do in New York City during the holidays:

Take A City Tour

There are more than 200 walking tours of the city, and they offer a different perspective of New York City. You can also take a hop-on-hop-off bus tour that will take you to five iconic landmarks in the city. If you’re looking for cultural activities to partake in, check out the Museum Mile in Midtown East which is full of museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, and the Cooper Hewitt. Or if you want to see the city from above, visit One World Trade Center, where an observation deck offers breathtaking views of Central Park and Manhattan.

Celebrate With A Parade

New York City is filled with festive parades and holiday-themed celebrations during the winter season. One of my favorites is the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which starts at 8:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning and goes all day long. The parade has been around since 1924, so it’s no surprise that millions gather to watch the event every year. In addition to the big parade, there are also events like ice skating performances, hot air balloon rides, and dog sledding races on West 34th Street that you can take part in.

Enjoy The Holiday Market

If you’re looking for a fun day out with the family, why not try the holiday market? This event features over 400 unique vendors selling everything from jewelry to food and wine. You can also enjoy live music, arts and crafts, or a kids’ activity zone. It’s a fun way to spend the day in New York City with your family!

Attend A Concert

If you love music, New York City has some of the best concerts in the world. Whether you’re a fan of classical or jazz, there are concerts every day of the year at Lincoln Center. The New York Philharmonic also puts on some amazing performances and is free for anyone to attend.

Go To The Theater

New York City has some of the best theaters in the country, so enjoy a show during your holiday. If you’re interested in Broadway, visit the famous theater district near Times Square. Or if you’re looking for something brand new and unique, check out some of the smaller off-Broadway shows or local arts companies. You can even take a break from all that Christmas shopping and catch a show too!

Grab Some Irish Cream

If you’re feeling festive, find a local Irish pub and order some Irish cream. It’s a popular drink in the city and can be found in most bars. If you don’t know what it is, it’s an alcohol-based vanilla eggnog that tastes like heaven (or so we hear).

Shake It Up At A Dance Club

One of the best things about New York City is the sheer number of different places to go. The one thing that most people have in common is that they’re all here for the same reason: to be part of the city. One activity you can do is hit up a dance club for a fun night out. You don’t need to know how to dance, just get out and get moving! Another great thing about these clubs is their huge size, so you never feel like it’s packed. You can also find them in almost any neighborhood, so there are plenty of options. There’s no better way to enjoy a night out than with some good music and different people around you. If you want to keep it low-key, some other options include watching a live show at an art gallery, checking out a museum during free hours, or visiting Central Park during the holidays.

Wrap Up With A Traditional Dinner And Show

Holiday celebrations aren’t complete without the regular dinner and a show. With some of the best Broadway shows in New York City, there are tons of options for traditional dinners and shows to enjoy. So if you want to round out your holiday weekend with a traditional dinner and show, here is a list of some of the best options: A Christmas C
